Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia: This is where I´m going tomorrow.
Right now I´m in Punta Arenas, and it´s different than I expected. It pretty much looks like every other Chilean city I´ve ever visited and right in the city there isn´t much natural wonder to see. However, the surrounding nature is said to be gorgeous.
When we first got here, the hostel I´d booked on-line, Hospedaje Mejicana, no longer existed. I had even paid 10 percent when I booked it. Fortunately, our taxi driver was nice and patient and took us to another good and cheap hostel: Hostal Costanera. Lots of people from all over the world here. I´m surprised by how many people from Israel come to this region.
Today we found out we have to go to Puerto Natales to get to the park, where we´ll have to spend the night. I´m worried that lodging in the park will be expensive - it´s hard to do this on a cheap budget, but we´re trying. It´s definitely an adventure so far.
